Burning

Waldo allows for some burning but burning barrels are no longer allowed within the Village. Chapter 146 of the Waldo CODE thoroughly outlines the opportunities and restrictions of burning . Burning Permits are purchased at the Village Hall from the clerk. The cost is $10.00 for a one year permit. The following is an excerpt from the CODE that addresses the most commonly asked questions regarding burning in Waldo.§ 146-10.7 Burning of leaves, brush, clean dry wood and other vegetative debris.

Open burning of leaves and other such vegetative debris is allowed, with a permit, only on Wednesdays and Saturdays, starting at 6:00 p.m. and extinguished no later than 10:00 p.m. unless other provisions are set by the Village Board.
Trees, branches and brush should not be burned and will not be collected but can be taken to the recycle collection site located at J.D. Trucking at no charge.
Garbage burning is not allowed in the Village of Waldo.
Campfires, (as described in §146-10.4), are allowed at any time by permit. All campfires must be visibly supervised and contained in a fire ring, bowl or other apparatus made specifically for the purpose of campfire containment. Campfires must be completely extinguished when unsupervised.

Liquor Licenses

Beer & Liquor Licenses:

Temporary licenses and annual Class A and Class B licenses are purchased at the Village Hall from the clerk. Temporary licenses are issued for specific events held by bona fide clubs and organizations. All license applications must come before the Village Board for approval. The costs vary according to license. Their fees are listed on the fee schedule. Questions can be directed to the Village office at (920) 528-8121.

Pet Licensing

Cats

Cats are not required to have a license in Waldo.

Dogs

Dog Licensing is a requirement set forth by State Law. The licenses expire as of December 31st of the calendar year. A grace period is given until March 31st. A late fee of $15.00 is charged starting April 1^st. Licenses may be purchased from the clerk at the Village Hall. Spayed/Neutered dogs cost $7.00 per license. Un-spayed/Unneutered dogs cost $14.00 per license.

Proof of rabies vaccination is required for licensing. Most veterinarian offices are willing to scan and email the rabies information to the office if a resident misplaces their documentation. The Village Office can be reached via email at: clerk@villageofwaldo.wi.gov or by phone at: 920-528-8121.
